One of the most popular events at The Lodge on Lake Oconee is our Fishing with the GM Program. Each year about 100 anglers of all ages join us to fish off the docks of the hotel.  This year there is a bit of an added bonus as GM Shawn Kosloff is also fishing in the Major League Fishing (MLF) Phoenix Series and the MLF Toyota Series. While this event is designed for kids, anyone can fish with us. Bring your own rod and reel or use one of the hotel’s spincast rods for this event. The hotel will provide redworms nd nightcrawlers for bait.

For this event, we scale down our tackle and fish for small bluegill and bass off of the hotel docks. Everyone is guaranteed to get a bite. In fact, in the past ALL of our participants have caught a fish! The action is usually fast and furious as these small baitfish tend to swarm our docks. All participants will receive a certificate of achievement and we are working on prize packs for all participating anglers.

The scheduled time is 8:00 am – 9:00 am but we’ll fish longer if needed so that everyone gets a chance to fish.
